I've found that Apex works much better on our phone for ICS compared to Nova. For GB/Froyo Holo Launcher is a nice newcomer but my ol' reliable is ADW EX. Launcher Pro just seems so outdated and from a completely different era.

Debatable, really. The ROM works on our phone and near the end there was VM specific stuff in his posts. I think the OP did it properly by including forum links.

Because a DSP can't magically increase sound quality and the DSP in question is known to be terrible for sound quality because it gives an unbalanced sound. By hardware, I mean a nice pair of cans, a system with a subwoofer, etc. That's how you get great sounding bass. Your terrible ipod earbuds...

^Could be your settings. Set your volume panel to expandable, hit the volume up or down key, then look at the fine tuned settings. Is the one for notification (the exclamation point) greyed out and crossed out?

You are the reason music is produced so terribly these days. Beats is in general just a poor sounding DSP and boosting your bass just ruins sound quality. If you want good bass you need hardware to do it.
