That does nothing. There is no way to "disable" the app, like other apps. You can only Force Stop it, hit More and uninstall any updates. Just be sure to turn off any Notifications and Permissions.

DAS, Once again you come up with some great scenarios for the Gear. Thanks for what you post. Some never occur to me; I think I'm still stuck in "watch mode" when its on my arm, rather than thinking what more it can do for me.

Apparently you can't download the Gear Mgr app from the Samsung App store using a tablet. It doesn't show up on a search.

I haven't seen the Gear app in Play Store so I don't think you can download it manually. I'm aware the connection is blue tooth but having the Gear Manager on the tablet would be great.

I think NFC is intended mainly for phones so you can tap with another to transfer data. Its the tapping function that makes it work, I believe. I guess the mfg'ers couldn't see folks tapping their tablets together to transfer data.

No NFC on the 2014 edition. That would have been the first thing I'd have tried, if so.

I tried, without success. Reason being, I think, is on the Gear's settings for bluetooth ... the Visibility setting is grayed out for now. However, I unchecked Bluetooth, waited a moment and checked it again, then the Visibility became active. If you check it quickly you can see it will be...

Interesting question. I played around with movement a bit and found it takes a moderate elbow bend and horizontal position upwards to at least waist level for my Gear to come on.

Okay, I'm a bit slow on the uptake at times but I get there eventually. I realized I have another gmail account that is NOT set up with 2-step authentication. I configured it easily in the Samsung native email app and it sends the emails to my Gear. Moral: if you have 2-step authentication...

I can confirm 40-50 ft. At the max footage I was getting connect/disconnect every few seconds. I believe the standard range for BT is 30 feet.
