    incoming group messages now come in as separate messages

    I have a LG v20 with Nougat 7.0. I want to continue using the stock messaging app. I dont want to use Google's messaging app. The messaging app does not have a setting to toggle mass text/group text. What do you suggest, other than Google's/third party messaging app?
