Its a world-phone, so it has a sim card. Although, I'm pretty sure it won't work on GSM networks in North America.

If you download Widgetsoid2.x, you can add a widget to toggle data. Once you download it, just add the Widgetsoid Switcher 1x1 widget. Make sure to select Mobile data (you can also customize the look, adding a label, etc). Once you click apply, it'll ask if you want to edit global preferences...

I think the problem there is that there is no way to set a large source image as the contact picture if they are a google contact. Because as soon as you set the pic, it gets uploaded to google and resized there and that resized picture gets downloaded back to your phone and used instead.

Re: Photon battery lasts only 3 hours, CPU pegged at 100%!!!!!!!! I also had a battery drain problem after the latest OTA update. Uninstalling WidgetLocker worked for me.

As far as I understand, the Wireless Tethering app in the market can only make an ad-hoc mode hotspot, rather than an infrastructure mode hotspot. Are there any apps that do make an infrastructure mode hotspot?

I absolutely love this phone. I am so glad I decided not to wait around for some half-baked solution (such as a FrankenPre3, though I don't that is possible). Everything is just fast about this phone, as soon as you touch an icon, the app loads. (And not just into the loading screen either :-))...

Hello everyone, It is both a happy and sad day today. I say goodbye to WebOS (at least till I can upgrade again), but I say hello to a working smartphone (the Photon). I look forward to reading all the articles on customizing android so I can make it look/work the way I want it to. Thanks, Gerard
