I dunno about that. Your original KK firmware must have been from an earlier build that has a dark theme. Although I haven't seen one ever, some versions are probably using the dark one for the stock music player. The best way is to use the same firmware you have before you ugraded to Lollipop

you're probably talking about the widget. on your home screen, place and hold your finger to any open space and wait for the options to show. select widgets and look for the s planner.
