My GPS was complete toast (no lock, no satellites) after upgrading to Froyo (it had been working before). I followed procedure 1 and now get a quick GPS lock. Thank you!!!

Another vote for Swype. I switched from a Blackberry and thought I would never adjust to a virtual keyboard. If you haven't used it, spend a little time practicing and going through their tutorials. I doubt you will switch back after using it for a week or so.
