    Actually I had it set in the contacts itself and it wasn't working. I ended up going into message+ and from the text message for the person you can select customize and then set it there. That has been working at this point.

    I don't see a way to check the permissions on the edge in the contacts. I use the one that's built right into the phone and I want to be able designate certain tones for a few specific people. But I can't seem to figure it out.

    Yes it does and it plays when you select it for the contact message tone. So I am not understanding why when I get a message from that person that it's not working.

    How do I assign different tones to different contacts?

    That's the same problem I'm having with my S7 edge. Any ideas on how to fix it? I have the files on the device and not SD and tried restarting it....nothing worked.

    OK I have tone assigned to the contact but it's still reverting to the default tone on my s7 edge. How do I get it to work? I have the files on the device storage and not SD card. Restarted phone and they still won't work.
