    Anybody had this problem before?

I had a strange mark appear on my screen that was similar, but mine was in the middle of the upper area of the screen instead of the edge. When I looked more closely, I could see the screen pulling away from the watch at the edge. At the same time, the watch bean getting very hot and not taking...

    Gear S charging cradle

Here's my solution that's working well. Six months now with no breakage. A combination of the aftermarket charger and the stand for the Apple watch charger. I just hook the bottom clip and let the weight of the watch and band hold Gear S against the charging pins. It's enough to maintain contact...

Why go 3G in a Smartwatch?

I think 3G ability is a great advantage, or potentially useless, depending on your technology lifestyle. If you are one of those people who have their phone in arms reach at all times, it's probably not needed. But personally, I saw little advantage to owning a smartwatch until the Gear S came...

"Hey is that an Apple Watch?"

That's what I point out when I am asked about mine. I mention how the Apple Watch does almost everything on the iPhone and is nearly useless if out of Bluetooth range. If asked, I'll turn off the BT on my phone before I demonstrate the features of the Gear S. Even better is when I am asked about...

    Gear S battery issue

The OEM charger from Samsung includes a backup battery inside. When plugged in it will charge the watch battery first then the backup battery inside the charger. Then you can use the charger as a backup even if you are not able to plug in the charger.

How to handle charging the watch if you don't wear it everyday?

That's what I typically do. My job is too risky to wear my Gear S at work so I take it off and turn it off as I head to work then turn it on when I get home. Then on my last day of the work week, when it's near empty, I leave it on the charger so it's fully topped off to start the weekend...

My Gear S charging cradle doesn't fit anymore, had to send all to Samsung Support to resolve

I am both critical and supportive of Samsung support when they deserve it and this post is a good example. Yes, Samsung is dropping the ball when it comes to dealing with broken clips on the chargers. But the mention of weeks of wait when sending items in for support has not been my experience...

    Voicemail Notification Won't Go Away

To dismiss the voicemail notification, you need to do a long press on the screen to get it to shrink down slightly and then you'll see a red minus sign in the upper right hand corner. Click that to delete the persistent notification.

My Gear S charging cradle doesn't fit anymore, had to send all to Samsung Support to resolve

There is a black metal band offered on eBay that is pretty decent. I've been using it for the last couple weeks and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Even better, it's now $10 cheaper than when I got it. eBay: Samsung Gear s Stainless Steel Black Metal Band It's also available from the same seller...

Modified broken charger for easier use

Like many others, I had one of the clips on my charger break and had to find a work around. I tried clamping the band around items to get enough force to make the connection but disliked the force required since I suspected it would be damaging in the long run. For many months my solution has...

Lots of issues with at&t gear s

Re: Lots of issues with at&t gear s The only time I saw that kind of usage on my Gear S is when I had accidentally activated the Here navigation app and I had GPS active. I didn't notice until I got home and saw it showing in the recent apps when I was trying to find out why my battery...

    Corrosion problem on charging contact

Mine's got the same problem. If I start having charging problems I'll just try giving the contacts a tinning of silver solder. Update: I gave the area a thorough cleaning and inspection under a 30x microscope. The good news is that it looks like there's a nice solid chunk of copper under the...

    Control you phone camera

Is your phone an S6? Other people have mentioned a glitch where some apps aren't shown as available on the Gear App store and it's somehow tied to the store not recognizing the S6 properly.

    Control you phone camera

The Gear S uses Samsung's Tizen OS, not Google's Android Wear OS. So you can't get apps from the Play store for it. You need to use Samsung's Gear App store to get your apps. When you first set up your Gear S you should be instructed to install the Samsung Gear Manager app on your phone. Once...
