Phone shut off at 17% is the battery failing?

From here: https://www.thurrott.com/mobile/android/77553/android-7-0-nougat-tip-manage-battery-life Those tips may help. In particular, have you tried Battery Saver or Doze Mode?

    Turbo 2 out of support?

No, it is not out of updates. If there is a critical update, the T2 will likely receive it. Even the Droid Maxx, which never got its promised lollipop update, received a security update for Heartbleed a couple of years ago. From Lenovo's site...

    Oreo rolling out?

Or two months or six months. Or Motorola could announce it's not coming after all. Truly anything is possible with Motorola.

Why has my battery suddenly started draining fast?

Re: nexus 6p Battery Suddenly Draining Aging battery. You know all those stories about Apple throttling phones on older devices like the 6 and 6s? It’s to prevent just this from happening. When a battery gets old, it can lose the ability to supply enough voltage at low charge levels when the...

    horrible battery

Listening to music with the screen off is an example of something that will keep the phone awake while the screen is off. I also notice that there was a period of time with bad cellular signal that would be pretty hard on battery, but that doesn’t explain everything. Suddenly turning off at...

Why are incoming Text Videos on my Moto Z so bad now?

That's right - it uses your phone number. I'd say that this is better than the Verizon Messages+ app, then, for sharing videos.

Why are incoming Text Videos on my Moto Z so bad now?

Don't Allo and Google Photos require the sender to also have a Google account? Wouldn't it be better for them to try Verizon Messages+ (assuming that they are all Verizon customers, as the OP suggests) so that they don't have to get a Google account that they don't need?

Why are incoming Text Videos on my Moto Z so bad now?

I never knew that Verizon didn't have an attachment size limit on MMS between Verizon devices. Perhaps the actual messaging apps do not "know" this? If you are using iMessage on iPhones, the messages are not sent via MMS, so they are not subject to any size restrictions - they are sent via...

    android 8

If past performance means anything, it doesn't mean a thing. Unfortunately, Motorola and Verizon just don't share plans for updates.

Phone shut off at 17% is the battery failing?

But doesn’t shut down while you’re playing? I’m wondering if that’s a workaround for you until a you replace the phone.

Phone shut off at 17% is the battery failing?

Well, this particular phone in question is a Moto X Force (same hardware as the Verizon Droid Turbo 2), but, again, I agree that's probably what's happening on a two or two-plus year old phone. I wonder what would happen if the phone was being charged by, say, a battery pack while playing the game?

After DT 2 (and previously Maxx and Bionic), what should be my next phone?

I'm not sure why anybody with an Android phone wouldn't consider the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2XL, depending on the size that you like. I don't have one, but one thing that you know is that it will get regular and frequent updates (unlike any other Android phone), and Google's project manager Sr. Vice...

    Oreo rolling out?

If there is one thing that long-term Motorola owners have learned, it's that new Android versions can come at any old time, that newer models always get priority, that carrier-specific versions like the Z Force sometimes get held up behind other non-carrier specific models, and that Motorola...

Is there a Notification LED on the DROID TURBO 2?

And as has been repeated by many people correctly on this thread, unfortunately for people who want a notification LED, none of these things that you have found can be used as a notification LED unless you root the phone. As I said previously, Motorola since the Moto X tended to include an LED...

Phone shut off at 17% is the battery failing?

Honestly, the more often you can give a small charge, the better. Plug in for a few minutes while have a tea or coffee break. Plug in while you are in the shower. Plug in while you are washing up for bed. If you drive somewhere, plug in, at least for part of the trip. (The only exception to any...
