I tried all suggestions mentioned. Eliminating cache from all camera apps. Erasing cache partitions, uninstalling camera updates. Nothing worked. I also installed Camera Zoom FX and it only restored backward facing camera. As my phone is over two years old I will likely get a new phone, unlikely...
