[Official] Gingerbread Update - Bugs, New Apps, etc.

I absolutely agree. Very disappointing. Go to Settings > About Phone > Hardware Information > Wi-Fi and you'll see it shows "802.11 b/g" only. Not good. - Doug

bug: calendar app with google calender

I have the problem too, xorbe. I just unhappily encountered this issue today. Anytime I edit an 'all-day event' it jumps the day forward one day. After searching the Evo forum, I was surprised I could only find this one post on it. I thought I'd post what I found as a warning to Evo users who...

    quiet boot/startup

No kidding! Could they have chosen a creepier tune? My Evo crashed and reset once late at night and I could have sworn the walls started shaking when the 4G nightmare theme started blaring. Seriously, I have a hard time watching the 4G animation with that music...I half expect Freddy Krueger to...

Corner of the screen is loose

Didn't work for me either. I tried the 'tightening the screws' technique before I did the caulk and it did nothing. Sorry. I wish it would have worked! I'm still thinking the problem is the adhesive. - Doug

    Blue vertical line on screen???

Yikes! I do not see it on my Evo. I'd return it in a heartbeat. Take it back to Sprint and show them a web page or background where the line is visible. Let them know it bothers you and ask them for a replacement. You're within 30 days so they shouldn't give you grief. My experience with Sprint...

Corner of the screen is loose

I have it. You should check out this thread... LINK: http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/15927-anyone-else-not-having-light-leakage-capacitive-buttons.html Others in the thread are having the same issue. Car kit for HTC EVO?

I have a ProClip mount that I used with my Pre. For those not familiar with ProClip, it's a two part system (mount + holder). The mount is specific to your car. The holder specific to your phone. Here is a example picture of their 'Tilt Swivel' mount+holder... Here's a picture of their...

Anyone else NOT having light leakage by the capacitive buttons?

Yep, you are right. Below the home button, the plastic is raised ever-so-slightly above the bezel. You really have to look closely to tell (or take a zoomed in macro-level picture of it ;)). On the search button side, it is not raised over the bezel. It's got to be an adhesive problem. Check...

Anyone else NOT having light leakage by the capacitive buttons?

I'm happy to report that the 'Proaud-Caulk-Technique' works like a charm. And by 'like a charm' I mean, 100% perfect. Zero light leakage. None. Zip. Awesome. Here are proaud's instructions... I bought the silicone from my local hardware store for $5. They had plenty of small tubes with white...

Anyone else NOT having light leakage by the capacitive buttons?

Wow! That's impressive, proaud. I never thought anyone would try it. You've got some guts. Hmmmmm, what to do?....the dangers of caulk? or the hassle of exchange? or the ease/annoyance of trying to ignore the leakage? Decisions, decisions... :) I'll report back if I work up the nerve to try the...

Anyone else NOT having light leakage by the capacitive buttons?

Exactly! When I press down on the bottom, the light leakage goes away for a few seconds, but always returns. I'd happily volunteer someone else to try out the caulk idea...;) Ha! I think Yourdogsdead has the right idea. If it starts to annoy me any more, I'll may try to exchange it. - Doug
