When you dealt with Verizon, was it in-store or over the phone? I went in-store for gear s2 warranty and they had me deal with Samsung.

I've sent mine in twice. Both times they were good to me. This last one was sent in for a speaker next thing I know I have a new LCD screen also. No more scratches. They'll 2 day air it both ways free of charge. You may not get a brand new watch but they will repair everything wrong with it free...

You can operate the watch under blue tooth and wifi so therefore no need for a plan

Actually Verizon 3g gears are getting update today and Verizon just recently updated the gear s2 update page to this version.

Well regardless I get registration failed while trying to update. Been on the phone with Verizon/and Sammy and neither said it was a fake. Samsung has given me a manufacturer warranty ticket but if any one may have an idea here please feel free to suggest

Are you a 3g carrier version? Which carrier? Or are you Bluetooth version? Just curious as I am Verizon and still no word of update.

Okay so been checking for update every once in awhile and would get the usual message... have latest update blah blah. Well tonight it says registration failed... any ideas? Right before that the watch was acting wonky. BT failure and wouldn't power down for a sec
