is this when you reformatted using the nookcolor? if so, maybe just try formatting on windows. right click on drive, format, quick format. see if that helps.

hm something is eating the battery. could be too many apps running in the background. i suggest getting a batter monitor/task killer app (not to kill tasks but to see what is using up the battery most) and uninstall that app or just reduce the frequency it is synching/running in the background...
