Seriously, Android 6.0 is already out. We can't even get the critical update to 5.1.1, even though it rolled out to Nexus devices 6 months ago. I knew the Active was going to get software updates later than the mainline S6, but the fact that the S6 only just got 5.1.1 this month is ridiculous...

Doesn't make any sense since the bootloader hasn't been unlocked and you would still have to develop the ROM specifically for the S6 Active model. Also, it references an XDA thread, but there is no such one on this topic.

These are two different phones. The 5.1.1 has been officially released for the Galaxy S6 AT&T variant. No word yet on the 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy S6 Active model.

Yeah, I think we'll have to wait a little while (week or two, if we're lucky) for an update for the Active. That said, I use Package Disabler Pro to get rid of bloatware. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when the update comes, I think I have to re-enable everything to allow for a software...

Re: s6 active sounds for text messages Assuming you're using the stock messaging app: Settings > Device > Sounds and Notifications > Ringtones and sounds > Messages > Notification sounds. If you're using a different SMS app (Hangouts, etc.), I believe you have to modify it in that app's settings.

Thanks for the comments. Since I don't know anyone else who uses AT&T, what are the steps for updating via ODIN? Are updates via this method non-destructive / non-wipe?

But that would also prevent phone calls. I know the iphone had an option to turn off data roaming. Dunno about this phone.

It's a Gingerbread thing. There is zoomable Gmail in Ice Cream Sandwich, once we get it.

I haven't noticed any lag moving from the SGS2 to the SR. Even though it had the same internals as the T-Mobile, the SR seems to perform much better.

I have to agree: this thing was not worth the money. As demonstrated by the photos above, none of the holes align properly, the plastic feels extremely cheap, and the fit is very poor, as it's loose all the way around, The only plus I can think of is that it comes with an SGP screen protector...
