Yes, I set an alarm, say 3:30 and name it "Doctor's Appointment". It would start with the ringtone I would set, then pause and speak out the name of the alarm and the time "Doctor's Appointment at 3:30". Was actually very nice and I became very used to it.

Go into "Settings" then "Display" and enable "Screen Rotation".

Re: Software Problem :/ What I like to do BEFORE upgrading to a new Android OS is to reset the phone/tablet. That will remove a LOT of possible problems from old apps and such. It's sound advice to all. It doesn't take that much work to backup and restore your Android powered smart device.
