A factory reset will not replace the file(s) you have deleted. However, you can do what is called a full system restore. This is where you use your computer to completely restore your phone to how it was when you first got it. You can find all the files and instructions on recovery here...

The update that came in for the Droid 2 did not include the Droidicons that we see in SMS messages. I have downloaded Handcent but the emoticons that the program uses is just a round green face and not the droidicons. I have no idea if we will get those back :-(
