I think it's just used to give the antenna ample reception and manybe just part of its look. I'm not liking it tho, it feels incomplete to have just partial if it glass. I'm guessing they choose to only do a part of it because glass is slippery compared to metal.

I think they're biggest problem will be standing out from all the other Android phones. They really pushed the new assistant, but it won't be long before all the other high end Android phones have it and it's specs. As good as a phone it looks now, we will see how it holds up.
