I got a similar issue but I am using a 32GB UH1 Sandisk in my Note 3 with the same results. Battery life is terrible compared to my wife's N2. I really don't want to have to live without my SD card but I wonder if anyone has brought this up to Samsung to see if we can at least get a software fix...
