    1300 mAh battery?

19 hours Fully charged the phone yesterday, removed it from the charger last night at 9 pm. It just ran out of juice, so 20 hours. It sat idle overnight. I listened to about an hour of podcasts in the car, today, made two quick phone calls, and read an ebook for an hour last night.

    Quadrant Pro scores

We've seen several people run Quadrant, but it seems like there are enough folks with G2s now that someone could run Quadrant Pro and share the scores. Anyone? I'm particularly interested in how the I/O system stacks up.

    Anybody get their G2 early?

Benchmark the processor Can you please benchmark the phone with Quandrant Pro?

    "network connection error"

My wife's phone has been doing this since she got it on launch day. It happens several times every day, apparently. I can't recall ever seeing this error message, so I suspect it's a hardware problem.

    Processor Speed

Decent performance, not great performance I counted pixels on the image that Jerry posted. The Nexus One received an 820% increase in "CPU" performance from 2.2. Extrapolating that to the Galaxy S, the CPU score for those devices would be 1175. In terms of processor performance, that would...

Is the epic really worth it?

Objectively poor screen for text Look midway down the page at the close-up shot of the Calendar icon. See the green strip on the right sides of the "l" and the the "d"? See the checkerboard pattern, especially along the left side of the "l"? If one's visual acuity is limited it's possible...

    different gps problem??

When Samsung "fixed" the original GPS problem, they set the GPS firmware to always report a precision of 98.4, whereas correctly programmed devices tend to report precisions of less than 20 feet.

Is the epic really worth it?

If you're stuck on Sprint, and you need a physical keyboard, the Epic is the way to go. It is extremely responsive. Having said that, my wife and I each have one, and we'll be returning them and cancelling our service, next week. For my wife, the battery life is the deal-breaker: The battery...

    DI07 - Yay or Nay?

It's a non-event; you won't notice it. Well, there's one thing you might notice: Not getting 2.2 for another month because Samsung wanted Sprint to focus on testing this update, first.

    Desktop Dock

Poor bedside experience The screen produces quite a lot of light when running the dock app. (Download an app from the market called Night Clock, to compare.) This is primarily because of the icons along the bottom, which I don't need when I'm sleeping. There's no way to hide or remove these...

Leaving phone on charge all night

You don't need to unplug your phone at night. It's the discharge/recharge cycling that wears out Li batteries. If you're going to unplug it, turn it off.

    Poor screen resolution

I'd been wondering why text rendered so poorly when zoomed out on the Epic, compared to on LCDs. Found the answer, thought I'd share: Secrets of the Nexus One's screen: science, color, and hacks

    AMOLED or SLCD

Has there been an official announcement by T-Mobile or HTC as to whether the G2 will use AMOLED or SLCD, yet?

    Switching the wife over soon

The battery life on the Epic is abysmal. My wife told me that she's avoiding using hers because she's afraid that the battery won't last until she gets home.

List of Epic Pros and Cons

GPS is in the lowest tier of performance. (Can anyone name one that's actually worse?) Can't leave the phone on the beside table due to "Charging complete" notification in the middle of the night. Screen is pixelated; everything looks dithered. Screen burns power like there's a hole in the...
