I just did the same thing and here is what worked for me. Go to Settings-Language & Input (Under System). Tap Samsung Keyboard (multiple languages). scroll to bottom to Customizations, then Text Shortcuts. You can add & delete yr shortcuts as you wish. (Actually I just saw the answer right...

How do you get to developer options? Go to Settings (the cog wheel), scroll all the way down until you see { } developer options. Click on that.
