Same thing here after updating to 5.1.1 last night. Here's the fix: 1. Go to settings 2. Applications 3. Application manager 4. Look for contacts and contacts storage 5. Clear data and cache for both contact and contacts storage 6. Go back to your contacts icon. They should all be there now...

All very valid points....thank you all :) I guess i'll keep this invisible shield glass on. It's literally on there perfect with no lint or bubbles....the halo around the edges is sort of bothering me (even that is even all the way around so I guess it's ok) ha!

I'm not 100% sure if it fits the verizon version, but I have AT&T and I purchased my case from a verizon wireless store and it fits perfectly. Safe to assume it should fit for you too. I love this case!

Can you access your contacts through a web browser in gmail?

Are you signed into your phone with your google account?

For the record, I am REALLY REALLY picky with my cases....borderline OCD if you ask me. I hate fingerprints, bubbles and scratches. I keep my phones in pristine condition....which really is dependent on the type of case you use. Again, I HIGHLY recommend Tech 21. Good Luck!!!
