Thanks, I appreciate your initial impressions between the two phones. If you have any additional thoughts on this, definitely share them in this thread, I know there will be other interested parties as well.
Any thoughts on Moto features vs. Lollipop features?
I'm specifically interested in Moto Display vs. Ambient Display, as well as Touchless activation of both devices.
One of these two phones will be my next, coming from a 2013 Moto X.
Thank you!
I transitioned from iOS to Android about a year ago (iPhone 4 to Moto X). I'm very happy with the transition, largely because I rely on Google services for a great deal of my communication and leisure activities. I'm not a power user by any means, but I've been very happy with the breadth of...
Re: Price doesn't matter
Very well stated. One should also consider that iPhones and iPads rely on Google Search, and the various Google iOS apps are both excellent and widely used.

Not being an expert in battery chemistry myself, is the 11 degree difference significant to battery health?

Re: Handmade/Quality cases?
I have a Durables wallet sleeve for my first gen Moto X. I really liked it for the first few months, but then the canvas slowly stretched to the point that I have to carry extra cards so the phone doesn't slide out when the sleeve is inverted. I started carrying two...
The MotoMaker descriptions on the 2013 Moto X specified which were soft-touch and which were not. I'm hoping the descriptions on the 2014 Moto X MotoMaker will be updated to reflect the same level of detail. Until then, it's up to the early adopters to inform the rest of us.
Re: Pre-orders will start on Tuesday. Who's ordering
I love my current Moto X and will be ordering the new X, just as soon as I decide on Motomaker.
I'm excited for the new build quality and IR sensor based features, and am not particularly concerned about battery life. Fortunately, as a...
I have a Dodocase sleeve as well. I really like it, but I carry around a very small amount of cards (2 or 3 at most). It can probably take more, but I think the leather will stretch a bit, and then you're committed to carrying the larger number of cards.
I have the Dodocase sleeve with the pockets and I like it so far. I'm coming from an iPhone 4 in a Snugg case which provided similar functionality, but was much thicker. I think the Dodo sleeve is fairly protective, as the ~2-3mm of fabric beyond the stitching should be fairly impact...
No problem. There are some nice items in their site, but a lot of it falls into the 'almost there' category for me. That is, the products look good, but don't quite reach the kind of functionality I'm after. Post back if you find some good options.
