Based upon my own experience, I’ll have to fully charge a new extended battery several times because the phone may fail to read it correctly, but with a new stock battery I think its unnecessary.

Got mine yesterday and feel it is an impressive device with good battery life so far.

I am ready to see which will be the first extended battery for my Galaxy S5. ZL and there's also a bit of interest with MPJ.
