Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing, or even 6.0 Marshmallow for that matter.

I had the same idea. You just need a small internal battery to stay alive for the 30 seconds (maybe one whole minute) to put a new battery in, seems like a no brainer.

In a way the Galaxy S4 fourms might be pretty dead just because there are so few problems. I've been using my new S4 for over a week and I'll be damned if I can find anything I dont like. The battery life is great, screen is great, everything is smooth and fast.

I actually started to have problems again, even with the new battery. I had to send it in again and it was repaired. It has worked fine since then but I'm tired of worrying about it. Planning my next phone now.

I think HTC usually has it enabled by default. My Amaze came out of the box with the app ready to go. But the question for the others is why? Why, if the hardware is already there, do they not want people to use it? The phones that have it work fine, why cant the others do it?

I'm thinking about going to from the Amaze to the Samsung. I think the Amaze was a smart choice a year ago plus I really wanted FM radio working out of the box, but I've had just too many problems. It's a shame since I prefer HTC as a company.

It's hard to say from your symptoms. You might try calling HTC support. They can be pretty helpful, it should still be under warranty and they will fix it for free if there is a hardware issue.

There's really not much you need to do to it. Everything works very well out of the box. If you know about rooting and ROMs then you can go crazy and reinvent the whole thing but if you just want a great (really top of the line still) Android phone then you are good to go.
