I took an Exacto knife and trimmed the rubber padding where it contacts the buttons. Should be fine.

I bet it's using wireless access point information instead of GPS or cell towers to identify your location. This happened to me several weeks ago when I was at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The company responsible for setting up the wireless there also set up the wireless at Atlanta Motor Speedway...
