If you just want to hide the unused icons to get them out of the way Go Launcher EX will do that. That way the phone won't crash if it needs them and they are still installed if you later decide you'd like to use them. Just saying...

What he said! My phone was stuck in emergency recovery mode for two days and I tried everything. I had assumed my usb cable was good because I had been using it just a few days before with Kies and it worked fine (My USB ports are in the back of my computer so I was using a longer cable)...
