if you use the stock app manager to disable the apps it lets you, those apps will not run anymore, and you wont have to unbrick to GB to reload ics..

when the app manager first opens, the disabled apps are still there in the current tab... just scroll click enable and the app is good again.

i found it under app manager, by clicking on an app, it brings up force stop and disable

There are some great backup options for rooted phones, so you can wipe clean, and restore your apps, and stuff.. I noticed a huge performance increase when I did a fresh upgrade. scares me to think that some people are flashing without backing up...

After getting nabbed by the security error for uninstalling apps, and becoming quite good at unbricking and restoring, I noticed the stock ICS app manager, has a disable option. which actually seems to work. I have currently disabled Google play books, Google play magazines Google play movies...

its the google books, and movie apps that seem to produce the security error. I went into app manager and disabled all the apps i dont want to use, this seems to eliminate the security error.

should we sticky this for the new unbricking to ICS method

I went through that yesterday, recovery mode is no help. you need to find a computer to do the unbrick method in the stickies.. you will be back up and running in minutes..

I started uninstalling apps around 7 this morning. Then starting reinstalling the sprint apps that we saved on TB. Tried to flash a few of the ICS upgrade zips. they would produce a assert fail code 7. Then I tried to factory restore, that would bring the phone to PP. not sure how I removed PP...
