Use Smart Switch or do clean setup on S26 Ultra

I've used Smart Switch three times and haven't had any issues. I also make monthly SD storage backups of my S25U with it too

POLL: Are you upgrading to the S26 Ultra?

No way. S25 Ultra 512 GB pre-ordered last year will more than suffice for at least 1-2 more "upgrade" iterations.

    Upgrade?

I'll be cruising along with S25U 512 GB for at least one more year.

Any actual downside to an unlocked phone?

The Unlimited plan from US Mobile (where you can choose ATT, T-Mobile or Verizon service) is currently "on sale" for 1st year @$25 / month and then goes up to $32.50/month if that's your requirement.

Any actual downside to an unlocked phone?

The point being made is that carriers can hose up trade-in's and have dodgy support like anywhere else. I used AT&T exclusively for as long as past employers paid for the phone and bill (nearly 20 years), then Verizon with one employer briefly (and was not impressed). Once I had to pay for the...

    Who's Ordering The S26

It could be due to auto lens switching. By default, the camera uses a main lens and crops for a lower overall quality and resolution shot rather than using the smaller 10MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) lens. I always disable that "feature" via the Samsung Camera Assistant app. You can also...

    Who's Ordering The S26

When I pre-ordered the S25U 512 GB, I cancelled it a couple of times to get max rebates and incentives (which got me below $500 total out of pocket) :D Other than no trade-in, I can see going the Amazon route for S26U. I'd pay with Capital One card to get $270 off instead of Amazon Prime CC 5%...

How do you guys purchase your phone? Directly from Samsung or from carrier?

Same for me. Samsung preorder direct is the most cost effective in my experience with any mobile phone purchases. I run the numbers occasionally for 3-year use of a direct device purchase and prepaid service vs 3-year carrier "deals". Posted about it recently here...

    Buying direct from Samsung?

The "value" is primarily for those who consume most/all of the large amount of bandwidth that carriers include as part of the pricey mandatory plan in order to meet device discount elegibility requirements. On average I use 2.5 GB per month. I pay $180/year ($15 flat fee monthly) for 10 GB of...

    Who's Ordering The S26

Wow that's not good! I too prefer a "traditional" SIM so thet I can easily swap between multiple phones. Also- I'm using a reasonably thin UAG essential armor magnetic case with S25U and it works well

    Galaxy S25Ultra to Galaxy S24Ultra

I use camera assistant to snap photos hands-free on S25U. Out of curiosity, what else are you missing from the earlier S-Pen? Other thing- S24U doesn't have a magnetic back (same as 25 and likely will be the same with 26) unless you are referring to attaching magnetic accessories?

Considering switching from Apple to android

Go for it. Pixel also you may want to consider Samsung S25 Ultra. I've used both and ended up sticking with Samsung since they offer a nice mix of extras in terms of better hardware quality and software add-ons that work well. For example: Knox Security Secure Folder, Goodlock, Camera...

    Who's Ordering The S26

I've pre-ordered and processed trade-in's twice without issues. On the last one, I contacted Samsung when my trade-in had not been processed within the time limit. They updated the status as "returned" the same day. I put one wrap of old school reinforced paper gum tape all the way around the...

    Get off my CASE!!

I'm hanging onto S25U and decided to try a slim UAG mag case. Decent sale price for the blue one and so far I like it. Works ok with slim wallet too but I have to offset it a bit when lowest big lens is active.
