What's going on with battery life nowadays?

Google screwed up an update yet again and many Pixel users are experiencing issues. I'm not noticing any excessive battery drain on my S25 Ultra daily driver.

Why do people seem to match the color of the case with the color of the phone?

I don't care about the color matching. I'm more inclined to buy a less popular color of one that goes on sale for less. Ended up getting this blue one to drop my titanium jetblack S25U into.

Cased in? Who here removes their case, even for a short period?

I take the case off briefly to clean the accumulated cruft they gets trapped every few months. Also, to wipe a Bausch & Lomb sight saver lens cleaning tissue all over the display. I do this seated at a table with the device in front of me, parked on a microfiber cloth.

Any solid replacement for Nova Launcher?

I've used Nova on OnePlus (8T), more recentl Pixel's and S23+/24+/25U with no issues.

    First to break it?

Stuff happens. Glad that you have some form of coverage.

Is 512GB really necessary? Who got the 1TB?

I'm using 173 of 512GB so plenty remaining.

    First to break it?

Oh nooo :( You may want to check your homeowners or renters insurance policy. Some offer coverage for mobile phone damage. I pay my mobile bill with Amex Platinum which automatically covers my S25U. I use cases that protect all the way around the edge. UAG Ultra Essential Armor is what I...

Who completely gave up on the S-Pen?

I have rarely used the one on my S25U. If it disappears in S27U and beyond, I won't miss it.

Are yearly prepaid phone plans worth it?

[emoji817] yes in my experience (with Android and iPhones) in the past ~7 years. In the the case of the former, I've purchased Apple refurbished from their site and the latter, generally new Samsung Android phones directly from them because they offer the highest trade-in values and incentives...

Are yearly prepaid phone plans worth it?

I've been using US Mobile T-Mobile service for ~4 years and haven't had any issues. Customer service has been fine as well. Initially it was $19.98 monthly and when I upgraded to their newer GSM network, it converted to yearly prepaid ($15/month for 10 GB data, unlimited talk and text).

Use Smart Switch or do clean setup on S26 Ultra

I've used Smart Switch three times and haven't had any issues. I also make monthly SD storage backups of my S25U with it too

POLL: Are you upgrading to the S26 Ultra?

No way. S25 Ultra 512 GB pre-ordered last year will more than suffice for at least 1-2 more "upgrade" iterations.

    Upgrade?

I'll be cruising along with S25U 512 GB for at least one more year.

Any actual downside to an unlocked phone?

The Unlimited plan from US Mobile (where you can choose ATT, T-Mobile or Verizon service) is currently "on sale" for 1st year @$25 / month and then goes up to $32.50/month if that's your requirement.

Any actual downside to an unlocked phone?

The point being made is that carriers can hose up trade-in's and have dodgy support like anywhere else. I used AT&T exclusively for as long as past employers paid for the phone and bill (nearly 20 years), then Verizon with one employer briefly (and was not impressed). Once I had to pay for the...
