    Can I update to Android 8/9/10 from Android7/MIUI 11?

    Thank you! It is a Xiaomi Note 5a, the Note 5a with the finger print sensor on the back. I'm worried if the phone's hardware wouldn't be able to handle a newer version of android hence why Xiaomi stopped giving it 'android' updates.

    Can I update to Android 8/9/10 from Android7/MIUI 11?

    I've got an extra android phone laying around, It's on android 7 and MIUI 11, I'm wondering if I can update this to Android 8/9/ or 10? EDIT: or would doing this through custom rom etc rooting cause my phone to lag too much?
