    Is the charging pod included?

Based on past experience w/ every single previous nexus device accessories I'm going to guess it will be 3-5 months before it's available. Prove me wrong Google. And yes, I realize they've shown it and maybe some reviewers will get it but same thing happened w/ the N1 car dock, nexus s desk...

yes it's easy to remove Palm coils with your bare hands but I doubt it's much additional effort to remove any other coil. You could probably assemble one without too much trouble using components like a Vishay coil (part# IWAS4832FFEB9R7J50) and a Texas Instruments IC that's Qi 1.0 compatible...

[GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phone!!

There are a handful of inductive charging protocols and I don't believe they are cross compatible. I'm almost 100% certain there are none that are compatible with Palm's touchstone system. For a higher degree of compatibility you may try a Qi coil & charger. It's one of the standards competing...

Not sure how different the back covers are but on my GSM version with 8 magnets the back cover has never come off and feels very secure.

I haven't tried MHL + touchstone but I have tried touchstone + power to USB port. It won't charge from both sources simultaneously, it will charge only from the first source that is connected. If you can force AC charging on the touchstone then putting your phone on it before attaching MHL...

I wish I could answer this for you but in all honesty it just doesn't matter bc there is really no indicator to trip by opening the phone. If you have a small diameter soldering tip I'd even recommend to go ahead and solder in the phone (a desolder wick with a little flux will clean it up like...

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon I took a bunch of unrelated personal stuff out but this should still work. Contains 2 profiles with unnamed tasks and a named task.

I have been using tasker for months to start Bluetooth when connected to power, have it automatically turn off if not paired for within 20 seconds, and leave it on if it is paired but power removed (like if I grab it off the touchstone to do something while music is playing). It's perfect and...

OK here are pictures from inside the touchstone. Bottom removed. Other side of the PCB. Notice there is a thicker, braided coil around the metal part but there is also a thin solid core coil glued down in the plastic... its purpose? Here is a side view of the yoked magnets. This...

Well most of the time magnets are yoked they are in an orientation such that the poles are facing each other forming a C shape. Obviously they should not be touching in that configuration as it would end up being a circle and defeat the purpose. I don't know of many applications where they are...

Ohio, looks good. I must say the profile cross section of the magnets in the touchstone is somewhat smaller than those magnets. If you have other magnets I'd recommend replacing one in each corner with a smaller diameter magnet or possibly even replace both magnets with smaller ones (should...

[GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phone!!

Yea, after posting about the dual magnets I decided as well to go ahead with dual magnets in each corner and just forgo yoking them. I was waiting to find a source for a suitable material to yoke them with but just going with 2 magnets seems fine. The reason I was hesitant to do it without...
