No dice, still lacks display and is a plain black screen.

I restored back to stock from a backup, I'm not sure if that is the same as it would be flashing the ROM or not. Yes, Safestrap comes up each time I boot, but I did happen to install Slimkat on the stock slot, but I'll see if it works on a ROM slot or not.

I've rooted my galaxy s3 sch-i535 from verizon with towelroot, and have flashed slimkat 4.4.2 with safestrap multiple times before it actually worked. However, there is no display on the screen but the hardware buttons work just fine. If I swipe correctly it even unlocks! I'm not sure what to do...
