Sorry, forgot to mention, purpose of this thread is: will it prevent the bits of screen falling out, and should I get a tempered/plastic protector to best deal with this

My phone screen (still perfectly responsive) has been smashed for a while, I have avoided using it completely and have been using a backup phone for months now, as the screen has bits of glass falling out. I had a brainwave and thought of putting a screen protector over it. Would this work...
