I bought the musics. I don't recommend you making anything you are not experienced with if you want to make a successful game :) (i.e. musics if you are not a musician, models if you are not a modeler...)

It depends on how you use the phone. If you are using it just for calling and messaging, there's no difference, even with different screen resolutions. If you use it for playing games or watching videos then yes, there's a difference.

The thing I usually miss is optical zoom. I expect with the minification of the camera compoents this will be a standard starting the next year.

About SD cards: Google is heavily encouraging (I am not sure if it may be even mandatory) not giving the option to use SD cards in phones with the lastest versions of Android. It is better for the user: just put 32 or 64 GB and don't make the user deal with two different memories in the phone...

I think we shouldn't be worried. Samsung has.

My main phone is Nexus 5, but as a developer I have a lot of gadgets and other phones (iPhone 5S, iPad Air 2, Nexus 7, Nokia Lumia 925...)

I've had long experience with Samsung phones and I discourage them. I don't have any experience with HTC phones, but for what I've seen I liked it. I think it's a good brand.

Sure. Cheap phones are powerful enough to be able to do everything. There will always be a market for Apple and some other flagship phones but cheap phones (specially Chinese) will dominate the market in the next few years.
