Got it to work with Jedi X 13 at XDA. LTE won't show up in the icon but it's LTE through tests. Also has the Jedi tools that lets you set up pretty minimal homescreens.

I remember the Jedi ROM I had made the mobile hotspot work but I'm wondering if there's a simpler one available because that's really the only feature I want. The apps aren't working because tmobile makes me login and I have the prepaid $30 plan so there's no hotspot included.

This is expected. HTC was never going to sell 1/8 of the S4. But they can still find success and I hope they do so there are competitors that keep pushing Samsung forward.

Saving grace? The option to have vivid colors and then more accurate ones than the iphone or HTC1 in movie mode makes it the better screen. More accurate whites, deeper blacks, and also a significantly larger screen in a smaller, lighter, body that is more comfortable to hold in your hand.

DisplayMate had a comprehensive test where Movie mode was the one with more accurate colors. Better whites and colors than the iphone. However, most people will probably like the vivid colors on the other settings.

Tmobile is essentially giving you 0% financing and letting you buy the phone at a fair price while only putting $150 down. How is that gouging?

Yeah the S4 has an amazing screen. HTC has been overhyped by the incompetent tech reviewers and many people are disappointed when they pick it up.

Samsung S4 is good design. Theverge is trash.
