Yippee! I've now got Assistant. I hadn't realised but it was waiting for me under the hamburger menu within the Google app. I didn't realise I had to check there.

Thanks for the info sp8y. So within the main Android settings, I have added US English and put it at the top. I then went to Apps -> Google and deleted the search data. I've only just tried this and it's not showing up yet. But finger's crossed it will appear soon.

Are other people in the UK still having trouble getting Assistant on their devices? It seems ages since it was rolled out to the UK, so why aren't I getting it? I do seem to be at the bottom of Google's list for updates! I've tried deleting cache and setting locales etc but no luck. I wish...

I found the same thing when my space got really low. The storage settings said some of my apps were using way more space than they actually were. Sometimes I could delete them and get a ton of storage back, but not always. I think there must be an error in the way it calculates space used.

Update now available in the UK! I've downloaded and installed the 3 smaller files and will install Marshmallow tonight. At last!!

Ah I didn't realise AT&T was GSM. Looking at the bands, it looks like GSM/3G is compatible but LTE/4G isn't. 3G would be OK for my needs though.
