Galaxy S4 Performance Issues (Release software)

You ask and you shall receive. Both TMobile and AT&T updated the software for their respective S4s this morning. Some highlights: -Better RAM allocation. That seems to be the driving force behind the update. -Lock screen no longer lags with light/ripple effects. -Apps open quicker. Most notably...

ATT Galaxy S4..Just Received An Update

Some more initial thoughts on the upgrade: -If you guys can go into your multi-task menu and click on the Task Manager, I'd like to know how much RAM is being used on your devices now. Mine took a dive from 1.1-1.2 to only 730 MB. How they've allocated their RAM has most likely changed. (This...

ATT Galaxy S4..Just Received An Update

There's always the whole "It sux cuz its plastix" standby.

    Gallery "Talks" to me

I'm lost on why it would be stuck like that. If all else fails? Factory reset it.

ATT Galaxy S4..Just Received An Update

Gallery is loading faster. Physical home button isn't lagging. Apps are loading quickly. Multi-tasking is even quicker with swiping away apps. Even the lock screen with the light effect isn't lagging. For those that remained patient for this past week and didn't overreact, pat yourselves on the...

    S4 outselling One by alot

All of the above, I guess. I don't really see the point in it personally, but if it's purely because you take pride in your choice to support Samsung and you're celebrating them doing so well, then by all means.

    S4 outselling One by alot

Wait until they release their numbers from Q2. There's really no need to post anything before then because it's just text on a page stating something even the HTC One owners/fans know; their phone won't sell as well as the S4. Not even close.

    S4 outselling One by alot

I happen to agree that you're going to get a lot of sites that push one brand/device before the other. All he's saying is that there's no question the S4 will outsell the One, but that posting "proof" from these sites doesn't lend itself to credibility. I echo that sentiment. Am I against Samsung?

My take on this "lag" issue

As much as I know about mobile and as many phones as I've tested/used over the years, I respect his opinion. I have zero issue with him sharing what he thinks about the phone. If anything, I'm glad he stated the same thing I've been saying this whole time in that the "lag" is overblown. As far...

For people that say 16gb isn't enough....

If memory serves, and I could be wrong, but the 32GB One has 25GB free.

    Gallery "Talks" to me

Edit: I was going to say TalkBack, but then I read the rest of your post and you said it wasn't checked. I would check it, uncheck it, and pull the battery. That's all I can think of at the moment.

My take on this "lag" issue

There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying what he prefers. That wasn't a shameless plug for the HTC One at all.

    S4 outselling One by alot

Glad you took the plunge, man. To borrow a line from one Phil Nickinson: "BREAKSCLUSIVE: GALAXY S4 WILL OUTSELL THE ONE, SURPRISING NOBODY." Outsell doesn't mean outclass. The One is a great phone and covers the other side of the spectrum from the S4. If you're an HTC One owner, the only...

    Software Update for T-Mobile S4..

Extremely happy to hear it. I'm going to have to search for the change log as I'm interested to see what they did.

My take on this "lag" issue

I've been spending the better part of the last week saying most of these things verbatim. I haven't had a chance to use the TMobile or Sprint versions of the S4, but I do have the AT&T version and had the Exynos version for the weekend before selling it on Craigslist. As Smooth4Lyfe stated, the...
