I set up individual notifications via Google Contact edits. Worked great on my Samsung S5. I find it to be intermittent with my V10. In fact, it will utilize the custom notification for an active text thread, and while I'm still in the same thread a new message from that same contact will...

DoubleTwist is the best app I've found to sync iTunes w/ Android. Even allows you to change song ratings on the phone and have those get updated on iTunes on the next sync. Also works with iTunes smart playlists.

Can't really find a good, proven app to do this. Anyone have any suggestions for a newbie on how to root one of these?

Just went to Verizon to get a replacement phone. Enough was enough. I had to prove to them what the phone was doing. Check out my video. Phone goes haywire at 0:33. Starts entering random text at 0:40. Screen totally freezes up at 0:53. Good times. Samsung Galaxy S5 freaking out - YouTube

I think I found a primitive fix for this... When it freezes up on me I immediately hit the power off button and leave it off for 10 seconds. When I wake it back up with the power button it seems to work fine. Saves me from having to remove the battery and wait 10 minutes.

This is a common problem with other threads describing the same issue. I'm having this same problem with my Verizon unit. Only the menu and back buttons work. No other screen touches will work. Have to remove the battery for 10+ minutes to get the unit to wake up again.

The phone has been working great for three weeks. Just this weekend it would freeze at random times. The back and menu buttons work, so I can get to the home screen. But I can only restart it by removing the battery. If the battery is removed for <10 minutes, the screen is still frozen. Removed...
