5G will be more relevant when controlling connected vehicles, remote machinery, appliances, etc over a smartphone becomes more mainstream. Until then, mostly hype. 1080 or 4K resolution on such small screens - now that one still has me scratching my head...

Re: How "future proofed" do you think the Note 9 is? Highly doubtful. Much more cost effective for them to send you a refurbished V20. Worst case scenario, if they send you a V30, return it & keep your V20, or sell the V30 and buy a used V20. You'll likely fare better that way

I don't have personal experience with this but I have read that this particular problem is prevalent with glass screen protectors that have adhesive around the edges only and the protectors that have the adhesive throughout the entire contact area do not cause this problem
