    I wouldn't recommend the Hero just because of all the new Android phones that are flooding the market. The new phones just keep getting better and better, so it would make sense to get a more up to date phone.

    Update to 2.1 without a PC

    You can always use virtual box. This will allow you to run Windows on your mac. VirtualBox You might also want to call the place that you bought the phone. They might be able to do it for you.

    Do you have an old copy of Windows lying around? You can download 'Virtual Box' and then use it to run Windows.
