Thanks for this information. This sounds like exactly what I need. The only problem is that I use VOIP for the phone, and don't even have a phone contract. 3rd party apps are the only way I can receive incoming calls. If I uninstall them, then I can't receive in coming calls at all.

Thanks for your effort B. Diddy. The phone is not rooted. Cleared cache partition, but problem persists. The only apps I'm aware of that have access to the dialer, are Groove IP, and Ring.to. Checked every setting in those apps as well, and can't find anything that changes the result.

You can overcome the problem by doing a factory reset on your phone. This worked for me. It's also the advice that USC is giving. If you don't mind doing a factory reset, you can upgrade to Kitkat successfully.

Alright, I did factory reset, and it did work for me. Wi-Fi is up and running again!

The standard e-mail notifications appear, but there is no option to "Mark read", or "Archive" from the notification panel. When it works, you can just click those to mark them read or archive them, without opening your e-mail client. Without them, touching the notification opens your e-mail...

Don't upgrade to Kitkat 4.4, unless you want to risk losing your wi-fi! Upgrading to KitKat busted my wifi! It's just greyed out now, and won't turn on. Several others have already reported the same problem...

I have the same problem. Wifi is greyed out, and won't stay on or register any sources. If you hit "Advanaced" options, the "On" switch turns green in the background, but it doesn't change anything, Tried rebooting, removing battery, removing and replacing sim card, etc. Nothing has worked yet...

I'm using multiple e-mail devices: Gmail, CloudMagic, Touchdown. Odly, just the other day, the extra features randomly appeared and started working for a few hours, then dissapeared again.
