Hey all, when I read through some rooting/ROM threads on this forum and others, I always see the word "MD5" pop up, and that people need to "Check the MD5 so it matches". Well...what is an MD5? And why do I need to check it if it "matches"? What role does it play in rooting/flashing ROMS? Thanks

Ok so here is my question, I'm not rooted and on stock 2.2. When the OTA update for gingerbread rolls out, won't it factory reset the phone as part of the update process? I ask this because I kind of want to root, and I want the official GB update when it comes, and to go back to unrooted...
