I can confirm, after carefully reading this thread, that if I go to Settings - Display - Font Size and set it to SMALL, then all of the all-day events are shown with visible text, not only the empty colored line. The issue is that I don't feel comfortable with my overall N7 system setting...

Hi: Just found your post about the broken day view of the Android calendar app in regards to text not shown (only colored line) for all-day events. This is happenning since long ago in my Nexus 7 now with stock 4.3 Jellybean, rooted. I do also have a Nexus 4 and a 10" Samsung Android tablet...

For now, the workaround is to uninstall the upgrades of Google Search and disable, until Google fixes this, the auto-updates of apps in the Play Store. This is a major bug that appeared in the latest version of Google Search, specifically (at least) when editing the Sports Card.... then it...

Exactly same thing happening to me on both , my a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 since yesterday when I edited the sports card in Google NOW to delete a "favorite team". Obviously its an app related problem or a Google side issue, but not a hardware issue (or even I'd dare to say not even a JellyBean...
