Samsung Galaxy S8 - Cannot connect to my home WIFI (IP / No Internet) Yes this again!

If the phone is connecting flawlessly elsewhere then it is almost certainly an incompatibility between the phone and your router at home. It could be that an incorrect setting, a hardware or firmware fault or contention with a neighbour's equipment is preventing a connection. You could try a...

The phone WE want vs. the phone THEY tell us we want...

I'd prefer 64GB of internal memory to the meagre 16GB that I currently have but I'd still want the option of having external storage too; they are not mutually exclusive. Unfortunately the carriers in the UK don't usually offer the bigger memory versions of the popular phones although they...

The phone WE want vs. the phone THEY tell us we want...

Why no SD card? I think additional, removable storage is essential.

Accidentally pulled a metal sticker off back of phone

Basically don't interfere with anything on the inside of the phone, even on the cover as there are antennas for lots of things like charging, NFC etc. I even discovered with my S4 that the Samsung stock battery has an NFC antenna in it but many third party batteries do not!

"Application not installed" for apps on SD card when phone boots up.

Re: "Application not installed" for apps on SD card when phone boots up. The applications, widgets and data on the SD card won't be available until the SD card has been mounted during startup. It may be that the mount process is taking place a lot later than expected in the startup...

Samsung galaxy S5 Mini - Vibration takes a while to kick in?

I appreciate that a faulty vibrate is irritating, it would drive me nuts. My brother dropped his Sony Z3 and now it has a pathetic whine rather than a vibrate. I can't be absolutely sure that yours is a hardware fault but either way I think that your only option is to send it back as faulty...

Samsung galaxy S5 Mini - Vibration takes a while to kick in?

I have no direct experience with this model but I have dealt with phones that have had their offset motor, which generates the vibration, dislodged either through shock (e.g. dropping) or being incorrectly inserted when the phone was assembled. The effect is often similar to what you describe...

How can I find my hotspot on my galaxy s5

I think the OP is looking for Mobile Hotspot and Tethering. My friend has an S5, I'll ask her later when I see her.

Unable to move app. Not enough storage space. Galaxy S5 w/ 5.0 on Verizon, how can I fix this?

Re: "Unable to move app. Not enough storage space." Galaxy S5 w/ 5.0 on Verizon Well clearing the cache seems to have worked for me although some apps are still refusing to move but not because of space reasons anymore. Amazon Kindle, for example, goes through the motions after pressing the...

    Set up emergency contacts

An excellent, clear, concise and comprehensive answer! I set up my ICE contacts in seconds and now know how to show them on the lock screen. Let's hope that the emergency responders and hospital staff know this too but that it won't be necessary either. Now I must configure my wife's and other...

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) and kitkat

My ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 is currently running Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and there is no update available but I see similar models being advertised now running Android 4.4 (KitKat). Are updates likely to become available for (slightly) older models? Posted via the Android Central App

What format is best for SD cards in Android devices?

I know how to format and partition an SD card and I am familiar with the various formats which Android supports. However, I would like to know if using a format such as ext2 will give more efficient use of the space on the SD card. Using FAT32 has the advantage of portability between devices...

What format is best for SD cards in Android devices?

Where possible, I install or move applications to the SD card in my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Android 4.4.2 KitKat device. However, although this frees up internal storage, I find that the applications seem to take up far more space on the SD card. I suspect that this is because the card is...

backing up... 1 left Google photo issue

Removing and re-installing seems like overkill and shouldn't be necessary. Even deleting Google+ data as well as clearing the cache might work but is inconvenient and risky. However, I may have to resort to one of these as a potential solution.
