I have the same problem with my HTC One and Android 4.3, HTC Sense 5.5. I am living in France. (1) The microphone works fine with the Voice Recorder app and (2) it works fine when the loudspeaker is switched on. But otherwise no one can hear what I am saying in phone calls. This is bizarre...
