I have found the exact same thing! Is there a fix or workaround other than to go into Skype settings and set "Sync Contacts" to "Don't sync?"

Mine conked out almost immediately on insertion the day I bought it. Maybe your problem is a different but related problem? I'll let you know in 28 days or sooner!

I tried the business card trick with no luck at all. So last night I tried reformatting the card in a (Windows 7) Command prompt to FAT32. After two hours of progress, it told me the volume was too large for FAT32. This left me with an essentially unformatted card. Windows couldn't read it. So...

I love my s4, it's nearly the perfect phone, except for one massive problem. I have a 64gb SanDisk SD card to hold my music, but I get frequent messages that the card has been unexpectedly removed. The phone then remounts it, checks it for errors which takes a while and then off we go again...

Nope. I went through all that in day one of my struggles. It is no solution at all, the problem will reoccur, trust me.

Yeah I also couldn't see the S4 option so I just chose "other" for my device.

Agree with JCasey35, this is completely unacceptable in a $700 phone. But who to complain to? T-Mobile, Samsung or Google? I'm pretty sure they'll all just try to shift blame/responsibility elsewhere. I'm going to try the business card thing but again, in a $700 phone this is unacceptable.

And what will that achieve?

Hmm I am getting this same problem. Turning phone off and back on cures it but it comes back, maybe every 2-3 days. I'm pretty sure it's not a mechanical problem - the card seems well seated in its holder and I don't see how bending prongs would improve matters at all. Very frustrating!
