I almost switched from lastpass but all this alarmist stuff only serves one purpose: to get us to spend more money. Don't buy in to the fear.

My refurbished replacement started locking up and spontaneous rebooting about a week ago after working pretty well for three months. A call to project-fi support to report the issue and I've got another replacent on the way. They pretty much said even refurbished phones are getting full warranty...

The app can't "see" the SD card to recover or reformat. Thanks for the suggestion though. I have an RMA and my card is going back.

The RMA from Samsung took a long time as I recall. So long that I bought the PNY card. Of course, three days after buying the PNY card the Samsung replacement appeared in my mailbox.

No point in speculation as to the cause. I will leave that to the manufacturers. Thanks for your replies.

I can't reformat them because they are not visible to any devices. At least these things all carry lifetime warranties so I am getting replacements for free, minus my return shipping. Bought from Best Buy and B & H.

That sucks. I feel lucky I did not buy at launch. I just got my refurb-replacement today and am setting it up now.

I've had two MicroSDXC cards go bad while in the S2 8.0 One was a Samsung card and the second a PNY. Has anyone else lost TWO of these card within a year or so? Other than this, my S2 has been a stellar performer. When these cards go, they can't be reformatted or read by any devices.

I already put a few hours in to trying to bring it back from the bootloop status. Even if it was "fun" I've got better things to do ;-)

Considering it was under warranty and that I don't know for certain it doesn't have a hardware failure, what point is there to spend the time to flash it when I have another phone on the way?

They are selling unlocked T-Mobile variant for $279.00 at B&H. This is very tempting, as I have a Nexus 5X that is pretty wonky.

Just found the developer moved to China and is having issues testing and uploading. Is there any other way to get/load watch faces that he had on to the s2?
