Thanks. As of right now I have flashed the LRX21O image to my Nexus 5 and this version of Lollipop has no way that I can see to do this, so an app would be helpful. I'm still not sure when CM12 is coming out so that might not be an option for a while.

[Nexus 5 running LPX13D] I want to make my lockscreen show a different image than my homescreen does but this functionality has been seemingly removed as of the latest lollipop preview. Any ideas? If there's no solution I can always just wait and hope CM12 or even just the official lollipop...

From what I've found, the best way seems to be by rooting and installing xposed, then getting the app Unicon, which changes icons throughout the OS. If you don't want to root though, then I guess not.
