Huge debug.log file, how to turn it off?

I posted the question on a Samsung community forum. A member there suggested that it was a repository for the "Samsung Members App", and I could uninstall it. This absolutely solved it. When I uninstalled the Samsung Members App, the whole directory com.samsung.oh was deleted, along with the...

Huge debug.log file, how to turn it off?

I came across a huge file under /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.samsung.oh/files/debug.log it was 11.5 GB and had a current timestamp. I truncated it a day ago, but it has already grown to 806 MB and has a very recent timestamp. I inspected the head and tail of the file. The head is from...

Share Google Calendar, but not contacts in SMS messenger

Wife has Samsung GS7. I have shared my google calendar with her, but when I do, all of my contacts show up in her default SMS messenger app. They do NOT show up in the normal Contacts list (unless she selects my specific Google account). Is there a way to suppress these in the SMS messenger...

Replacement for rsync backup for android

On GS5, GS6, we used rsync backup for android to copy files to at-home Linux desktop. rsync backup for android is not in the GooglePlay on GS7. Does anybody have a recommendation for a suitable replacement? Tried SSGelper and SyncMe, they don't have proper functionality. Thanks JimR

    Notifications lost defaults sounds directory

That's a workaround, not a fix. Does anybody know how to actually fix this problem?

    Notifications lost defaults sounds directory

I cannot select any of the default (pre-installed) sounds for notifications or Alarm, etc. When I go to Settings | Sounds and Vibration | Notification Sound |, Default notification sound, it displays a directory of /storage/emulated/0/Download/openvpn which has files which I downloaded, but...

GS6 launches PowerAmp on Plantronics Bluetooth earphone when iPhone disconnects call

No, it does not make sense if the plantronics supports dual connection. Of course it does, I said that in my original question. What does not make sense is that the GS6 launcher is starting PowerAmp without reason.

GS6 launches PowerAmp on Plantronics Bluetooth earphone when iPhone disconnects call

The title pretty well says it all, but since it sounds so wacky, I'll elaborate. Galaxy S6 (personal), iPhone 5C (work), share a Plantronics Bluetooth earphone. GS6 is sitting lonely on the desk but I have not launched PowerAmp. I am on a phone call on the iPhone, using the Plantronics...

What directories should I back up

With all of the reports of ransomware attacking phones, I decided to extend my backup efforts beyond the basic built-in. I installed rsync Backup for Android on my GS6, and wife's GS5 and TabS. I am familiar with rsync and Linux, and targeted the backups to a Linux desktop. I backed up the...

VPN blocks outbound SMS on S6

Upgraded phone from Samsung Galaxy S4 to Samsung Galaxy S6. Incoming TXT continues to work normally, but I cannot send an outbound TXT while VPN is connected. If I disconnect from VPN, TXT works fine again. Same carrier - Verizon. Same messaging app - Samsung Messaging. Same VPN provider and...

    More likely malware?

I posted a few weeks ago about "graffiti" being shown on my wife's Tab S10.5 (Internet Watch Possible Malware?). Only response was to see if it happened again. Tonight, it did. The message was different this time, instead of "Internet Watch", tonight it displayed P4070033. Picture is...

    Internet watch possible malware?

It was on the device's home screen. There were other tabs open, which included browsers, gmail, etc.

    Internet watch possible malware?

Wife opened her tablet this morning. Across one of the home pages, was scrawled something like "Internet Watchxxx" (couldn't quite make out the last 3 letters). It was upside-down, and in a font that vaguely resembled spray paint graffiti. It disappeared after a few minutes. Seems like a...

Clock Alarm default time changed after Lollipop upgrade

Before the upgrade, when I launched the Alarm Clock, it defaulted to current time. From there, it was easy to advance it to the time I wanted. After the Lollipop upgrade, now it only defaults to 6:00 AM, usually not even close to the target time. I can't find any settings that allow the...
