Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

Agreed, except that AFAIK Google only released an update that could be installed if the user was rooted. When you do that, you only get report of issues from people who are rooted, and obviously those users could have other factors influencing the performance of the device. IMO they should...

Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

You told the poster you hoped their device got skipped. I called that a slam, but maybe I was being polite. And no, I don't have a crippled device. And I'm not in any rush. I posted my status and my location, for informational purposes (as I find it helpful when others do the same). Maybe...

Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

Hmm... seems like there are a lot of people who feel they need to complain about a rant or impatience and to tell others to simmer down? Maybe that message should go both ways?

Android 4.1.2 OTA Update Now Rolling Out to Nexus 7 - Adds Landscape Mode

I think "most people" is a pretty big assumption, given that all you have to go on is that a handful of people here have said they've gotten it. Don't you think slamming someone for a rant that happened BEFORE even one person in the forums got the OTA is a little harsh?

    DINC 4g or ?

Battery life and weight, as already mentioned, but also the ease of usability with one hand, and the reduced bulge in my pocket (and it fits in more pockets than the rezound did). I also prefer Sense 4.

    DINC 4g or ?

The post you're taking issue was was a month old by the time you posted. You can't expect old posts to have current info.

Received 7 defective Nexus 7's and Google is now refusing RMA's

I have this issue too. I'm assuming it's software, not hardware. Mine went away after rotating the device to force a redraw.

    Ebook Reader for Nexus 7

In case you didn't get an answer to this - If the nook is not already initialized with Adobe Digital Editions, you'll need to set that up. Then, on the computer on which you have ADE installed, go to Google Play and download the book. You'll get an ACSM file. Open that file in ADE. This will...

Received 7 defective Nexus 7's and Google is now refusing RMA's

Re: Received 7 defective Nexus 7's and Google is now refusing RMA So I got my third one today, and this one's looking defect-free so far - absolutely no screen lift, no dead pixels and no light bleed. It's a C80 series. Anakin - it seems that Staples is now shipping C80s. You might want to...

Received 7 defective Nexus 7's and Google is now refusing RMA's

Re: Received 7 defective Nexus 7's and Google is now refusing RMA No, they don't. As to them not having the latest hardware, I expect there will be new models of both of these devices this fall, and those new models will be a better comparison than 9-12 month old hardware v new device. I...

    The little things... (issues)

I haven't had any issues with the speakerphone. I don't use it that often, but when I do it sounds about the same as my previous phones (OG Dinc, Rezound). I used it this morning without issues.

    Jelly bean

Given the number of apps that don't play nice, and the flash issue, I'd rather stay on ICS. FWIW I haven't heard that this device has been officially announced as receiving JB.

    Stupid Question

Is it possible to be rooted and not have a custom recovery?

So is it safe to say wait.

Glad to hear you got a C80. I have no idea what series my first two were, but I'm hoping to avoid that sucking noise from serious screen lift that both of those two had (I got them both in the first two weeks of release). My new one arrives tomorrow. Fingers are crossed for an issue-free device.
