I used to use Google voice. But now I only use WhatsApp. It's great and it does mms. In addition you can text you international phones as long as they install WhatsApp.

I am on my 2nd Tbolt because the first one refused to hold a 4G signal. I worked with Verizon and the rep confirmed that this is a known issue with some of the Tbolt hardware, they sent a refurbished to me and it's been working great so far.
